West of Chengdu, the roads climb into a landscape of snow peaks, high grasslands and Tibetan cultural traditions. Mount Siguniang, Danba and the Tagong area each reveal a different side of the region.
Kangding and Xinduqiao are gateways to longer mountain drives, while routes farther south can reach Litang and Yading's alpine scenery. Distances, altitude and changing weather are part of the experience, so the route is best paced with care.
