In Hunan's UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan, more than 3,000 quartz-sandstone pillars rise above forested ravines. Zhangjiajie's peaks became a real-world visual blueprint for the floating Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar. Film artists photographed Wulingyuan, including Yuanjiajie's Qiankun Pillar, and used the images as references for Pandora's digital scenery.
Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain showcase the pillars; Golden Whip Stream follows the forest floor. Tianmen Mountain adds its dramatic natural arch, while the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge appears on our longer journey.
